howdy and update

hello my dear reader(s)!

apologies for being so out of it (Blogsville) for the last several weeks....but what a month it's been!....opening my own office....coping with a $1000 vet bill (my dog Sun Bear has Valley Fever, or Coccidioidomycosis, has had 2 surgeries, and is now on anti-fungal medication, and i'm basically bleeding my credit cards and bank accounts dry)....plus it's been very very windy for the past week or so, which is kinda disorienting!

i also had a woman staying in my back back yard for about 2 1/2 weeks....she is from Idaho, but used to live and fish in Alaska, and now sells wild-caught Alaska king salmon in Tucson and elsewhere. when she's on the road she lives in a Toyota pick-up with a cabover poptop camper, and has a huge Newfoundland named Oso who travels with her as well! it's a completely different lifestyle than the one i'm accustomed to.

we know some of the same people, so when i found out she was looking for a temporary camp, i invited her to stay here. we all (dogs & humans) got along just fine, and i was left with a freezer full of yummy king salmon as well! (go to www.elfishcompany.com for more info, but never mind about her big Clearance Sale as the last of that is gone--donated to the Reid Park Zoo for the big cats and polar bears!)

the office is simply beautiful, and the owner is a kind and gentle man who is very easy to deal with. the building, which is across the street from a major medical center, has 4 treatment rooms. i am sharing one of them with a woman who graduated last August from the massage program i used to teach in. her class was the last one i had a good connection with, and 2 other women who also graduated in that class have rented another one of the rooms! a 3rd room is being shared by 3 Shiatsu practitioners, and we are all hoping to have an acupuncturist take the 4th.

our grand opening was last Sunday and it was well attended--mostly by friends of the owner and his wife who wanted to see the newly-refurbished offices. but a few of my friends made it as well and it felt very good to present "my" new space!

my sweetie will be here soon and i have to say that's a hugely bright spot in an otherwise precarious life situation.

i am intending and affirming and putting out the good vibes for lots of referrals and for selling lots of gift certificates and massage packages in the next couple of weeks. i have been doing more Jin Shin Jyutsu and appreciate it more and more, especially in use for extreme emotional upsets.

maybe i need to do a little more of it on myself....
