everyone here is doing fine. clients are cancelling, though, and paying bills is getting pretty squeaky. folks are freaking out and i can feel it even though i do not listen to the news, nor read the newspaper. i catch a little online, but try to stay away from most of it. the panic is building, and i can feel it out there.
i am being in the moment with nature. since i am not working very much, i am at home a lot, chilling with the dogs. it is really beautiful here right now! cool (only gets up to the 80's these days), sunny, gusty. i am riding my bike a lot more. life seems simple and if i can hear a bird or see a tree or feel the breeze, i just become saturated with that for that moment.
there is plenty of bad news to go around, so if i can spend a moment buoyed up by nature's beauty, well then, that's one more glorious moment in my life. my girlfriend A and i have been meeting in a nearby park to do QiGong a couple mornings a week. it's great to do outdoors.
i am also praying more than ever. every time i hear a siren i send a prayer to the folks in the emergency vehicle and also send a prayer to wherever they are going--a prayer for everyone. seems as though praying constantly is the best thing i can do for anybody, including myself. deepening my compassion. the world certainly needs it.
