some thirty odd years ago, i made a big heart shaped cake for my Mississippi bf, Steve--or Teeb, as i affectionately called him.

if you bake a layer cake recipe in one 8" round and one 8" square pan, you can make a big heart if you cut the round layer in half and place one half on each of 2 adjoining sides of the square layer.

i frosted it in pink, and added this in big red letters:

somewhere in the archives i have a picture of him holding it.
