Insight from the Dalai Lama, 5/22

this is a few days late, but i really liked it.

it's from one of those page-a-day calendars, and sometimes i go a few days between tearing off the sheets, so i just found this one this morning.

"Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it."

i'm taking this weekend to especially remember the native peoples who died so that i can call myself an "American".

bless all our ways, all our days.

hmmm...that could be a way to judge success...I think, though, that success comes without giving up anything...unless maybe he is speaking about giving up old ways of thinking/acting.

I recently found a quote I love:
"YOU ARE PERFECT AS YOU ARE, AND YOU COULD USE A LITTLE WORK." -SHUNRYU SUZUKI-ROSHI

Funny guy, that Roshi.
